Experts,
I need to import multiple full-size (8.5x11) pictures into a Crystal report for use in SAP Business One. The pictures are .jpgs taken from each page of a .pdf document. Picture sizes are under 300KB, typically. I tried importing .pdf pages as OLE objects and could not resize them to fit the page properly, so I decided to convert them to picture files. After just 3 or 4 images, the Crystal report (which contains virtually nothing else) grows to 47MB in file size. I am no longer able to see all of the images in the report designer and preview windows, and they don't even export to another format. I can think of no way to view the pictures while I'm continuing to design the report.
Our client needs this document created in Crystal to work with another software. They have up to 20 pages of full-sized pictures as part of their requested marketing-related report. The data portion of the report would be minimal (10 records max, probably) and the tables involved would not be particularly complex. There would be no subreports as far as I can currently determine.
Is there some limit I'm reaching here that is related to Crystal Reports or am I experiencing a memory or hardware limitation? This is occurring on multiple computers, both local and on remote desktops. I have created very complex reports with 20 or so smaller pictures on them and with multiple subreports that end up being 45MB or so in size and they work fine. Why would this situation be so different?
Thanks for any assistance.
