Hello experts,
i am having issues coming with with a query that would allow me to compute commissions for different sales person based on a commission range.
For example i have sale person A1 and their range is from
$0- $500 they get 1%
$501-$1000 they get 3%
and their cumulative total sales has to reach the lower range in order for them to get the commission. i managed to do this with the "over partition" syntax but there is another part of the requirement that goes like this:
If the total sales for the sales person is less than the higher range, the next sales amount has to split to allocate part of the sales to reach the first rnage and the remainder of the sales amount to go to the next range E.G
Total sales $450
so the commission would be 1%
the next sales is for $100
so $50 of that is to go towards the first range @ 1%
and the next $50 is to go towards the next range @ 3%
Not sure if i am being totally clear but any feedback would be welcomed.
