We just upgraded our Crystal Reports, and Visual Studio. We use external Crystal reports and call them from within our program. Earlier we used Visual Studio 2008 and Crystal Report 11.5.8.826 and Now we are using VS 2013 dot net Framework 3.5 and Crystal Report 2008 Version 12.0.0.683.
After upgrade, some of the reports have started showing ### instead of number fields (i.e it reduced the length to 3 instead of earlier 5). To test and verify this again, we ran the same program and same report with old version of EXE file, and that ran perfectly fine, but with the new update, when we open the report, same report field length shows as decreased. It would be a major work for us - if we have to make changes to few reports at many locations where our program is running, whenever we upgrade. Crystal Reports is not installed at client location and only run time setup is given, user can access the report through our Package EXE only and the report opens up in Viewer. There is no Change in the Program EXE file which would affect any of these reports.
Any clues on why this is happening or is this a known issue or any guidelines on how to avoid this without having to OPEN the report, adjust the fields and then save.
