Upgrade from Win2003 to Win2008r2 - CR 10.5

Hello All,

I have a web application that uses CR - I think 10.2 - that was hosted on a Win 2003 32 bit computer. That computer was decommissioned and a new 2008r2 was stood up in place. We've installed the 'Crystal Reports Basic runtime for Visual Studio 2008 (x64)', listed at version 10.5, and that appears in my add/remove programs. But when I try to kick off a report from the site, I get the 'Save as', do you want to open or save this file. It shows as an .rpt file, and it's hefty at 8mb, but it won't open. Does anyone have any insight as to version support or potentially this error? I'm wondering if the application is crashing ... and if it's related to a bad install.

how to hide page header if there is no data avaliable in Deatail area of Cyrstal report

Hi experts

 

i had created a Layout in which i had report header >> page header a, page header b, detail area

 

i had attached the screen shot of Layout

 

what i need is when the details area is blank the page header b (PBh) should suppress,

 

i try with this formula >> pagenumber = totalpagecount

 

it works only if there is 2 page in the layout, if there is only one page then PHb and RH together appears in the print out

 

pls suggest a solutions

How to display the line graphs with horizan tal and vertical . Min and Max are Vertical and avergage horizantal

Hi sir,

 

 

Please check Attached file.  is it possible to display the graph in crystal reports?

 

Min and Max values are Vertical lines for   each data series.

Average values are Horizontal line for   each data series.

 

Please give me the solution as soon as possible.

Crystal reports 7 report with Crystal for VS 2013

When using an old Crystal reports 7 report within a new Visual studio project and Crystal reports For VS 2013, we are not able to change the data source no matter what we try. We removed parameters from the report and cleared all the check boxes related to saving data with the report without success. The report always displays the data that the original SQL query retrieves. The data set we provide through the code has no effect whatsoever. There is no way, as was previously possible, to change the SQL query directly.

The query in question accesses 10 tables and we provide a single data set with the result stored in a single table object. Attempting to change the table object name to one of the database table names causes the application to hang.

 

Any ideas?

Pie Chart

I created a Pie Chart in Crystal Reports 2013. I use conditional color highlight. The legend colors and titles does not match the Pie Chart's colors and titles. Anyone found a solution to this problem? Sample below.

How to burst data based on group header in MS Excel format?

Hi All,

 

I have data organized in the following manner on my Crystal report:

 

Group Header # 1 = Group # 1

Group Header # 2 = @HOTEL_GRP

Group Header # 3 = Name

Group Header # 4 = Hotel Manager Name

Details = Hotel ID, Manager ID, Manager Name, Location, City, State, ZIP

 

The report when scheduled to run and exported as MS Excel in Business Objects looks like below:

I need to be able to export this report as per the Group # 1 and its corresponding details.

 

 

e.g. 1 excel file will only have the Entertainment Group Header (and the remaining details)

And the other will have Accomodation group header (and the remaining details).

Is it possible to burst the data using this method in MS Excel format?

 

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

 

can someone show me how to create a custom total.

 

here my example: I have amount by amount (5K, 5K@10K etc.) and by date, but i need to find a way to calculate only for 2016/01/05.

Include empty fields

I have a Crystal report which lists patient names and account numbers. Sometimes, there are "notes" entered in the "note field" of our patient database.

 

I have written a formula field that shows the note "only if the operator is Mary Pat".  If not, then it is "blank".

 

This is working okay EXCEPT if there were NO notes ever entered on the patient, that patient is completely skipped.

 

I would like ALL patient to show up in the report (whether or not there is a note), but still show only Mary Pat's notes.

 

Any help is appreciated!  (see image below for formula)

SAP B1 crashes when importing Crystal Report

Using SAP Business One 9.0 PL12 with Crystal Reports 2013 Support Pack 2 Version 14.1.2.1121

 

Created a layout for Purchase Quotation, imported it to a test database, successfully tested it.

 

Tried to import the same template to the production database, and every time SAP B1 crashes when trying to import the RPT layout to production.

 

Tried to rename it, changed Set database location, ran it in Crystal Report to preview, it worked fine, but again, when trying to import it to Production, SAP B1 crashes! Tried this with a different super-user and the same crash happens in production.

 

Any help appreciated.

Is the Crystal Reports Viewer 2013 license free

My client has crystal reports 2013 and is emailing pdf and xls instances to internal users.

If we host the .rpt files in a web portal can the users view the .rpt files for free.

 

If the crystal reports viewer is not free how much does it cost.

Error when trying to save layout to SAP Business One

Hey all,

 

I hope this is the right forum, as this is my first post in SCN.

Today I have installed SAP Crystal Reports 2013 (SP7) in order to modify my quotation templates. I can click "edit" in Business One and it opens the layout in Chrystal Reports tool. I can also do a manual "save to file" in Chrystal Reports tool and import in Business One. This way it works well.

 

However, I am trying to use the far more convenient way of clicking "Save" in the Business One Add-In for Chrystal Reports. When I do that, I do get the list to select a "save as" name. As soon as I enter a name and click save, the following error occurs:

 

"Das Dokument wurde nicht geöffnet" (German for: The document has not been opened").

 

I have tried on two different machines and with 32bit and 64bit Business One client.

 

Does anybody have an idea of additional ways of debugging this issue?

Crystal Reports 10 - This Report Could Not be Opened for Writing

Hi Crystal folks!

 

I work at SAP and had a customer recently call in with an issue that I was hoping you all could assist me with.

 

They are currently using Crystal Reports 10.0.0.533.

 

They access it via ODBC connections to their SQL server to access data for the reports.  They set those connections in both the 64 and 32 bit areas.


Whenever this new employee tries to open up a report, they get the attached screenshot along with the error, "This Report Could Not be Opened for Writing."


The end user is on Windows 7.


Any ideas?  If any follow-up questions are needed, what would those be?

Two different conditions in one formula

I have a formula field for a date. It has the following formula that works

 

if ({cycle.accountProgram} in

["071","089A","092A","dd45","Rebs21-1"])

then {cycle.entryDate} + 90 else {cycle.entryDate} + 30

 

we recently added a new column to the data base where if the entry to this column = "1" then formula field needs to read "Next Visit" if it's not "1" then it could proceed to the formula

 

this is what I tried

if {cycle.nextTarget } = "1" then "Next Visit" else

if ({cycle.accountProgram} in

["071","089A","092A","dd45","Rebs21-1"])

then {cycle.entryDate} + 90 else {cycle.entryDate} + 30

 

crystal reports rejects it saying that the second "if" needs a string. what string would that be? (also, I should mention that cycle.nextTarget has no entries since it was just created. I don't know if that effects anything. moving forward the report will need to capture rows before and after it was created. so some will have that entry and and some will not. so those that lack that entry need to default to the original formula)

Using two versions of Crystal Reports on the same server

Hi I built an asp.net web application using visual studios 2008, using Crystal reports 2008. I am now using Visual Studios 2013 and CR 13.xxxxx . I want to upload the VS 2013 project into the same server hosting the vs 2008 project and older version of Crystal reports. If I install the runtime software for Visual Studios 2013, will there be problems for my previous VS 2008 project using the older version of Crystal reports?

Speed comparison between program and viewer

I have a report that has 14000+ options to choose from when opening/refreshing the report.  I had to update the register so it would show all of the options for the parameter.  Anyways, when I do this while I am in Crystal reports, it is pretty quick in selecting.  But, when I do this in a viewer, it takes much longer depending on the max rows I set in the register.  Anybody know why there is a difference?

.(this error show when export report to Microsoft word (2003 or 2010) from crystal report viewer

the report is running and give me data with parameter ,but after click on export button and choose Microsoft word and click ok

show me Error: Information is needed before this report can be processed .(on Cash server\commerce2.pageserver)

 

how can I export report to Office  and solve this problem

I used sql2008 and windows server 2003

How to sum first two groups in a group expert

Hi Experts,

 

I have created a group in crystal report .

 

The groups are 1,2,3,4,5,6

 

For that i kept group totals

 

Now in other field i require totals of 1,2 only not all the group

 

Can any one help me out on this
